Good morning, it’s Thursday. This is Guru’s Tech Bytes, episode one hundred forty four. And boy, do we have a big one today. I mean, we’re talking about money, machines, and, well, a little bit of sadness too. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. You know how I get when I start rambling. Let’s just dive right in, because there’s a lot to chew on, and I’ve got my coffee right here. Heh. Hhh, okay, that’s something.
First up, Nvidia is buying Hugging Face for thirteen billion dollars. Thirteen billion. That’s not chump change, folks. That’s like, real money. And it makes sense, right? Because Nvidia’s got all the chips, and Hugging Face has all the models. So they’re just gonna, like, mash it all together. I mean, I don’t know what that means for the little guy, but it sure sounds powerful. It’s like putting a rocket engine on a bicycle. Wild stuff.
Second, AWS is grabbing DuckLabs. Now, I don’t know much about DuckLabs, but I know AWS doesn’t buy junk. They’re all about that cloud, and DuckLabs must be doing something right with their testing or whatever. It’s a thousand upvotes, so people are excited. I just hope they don’t mess with the pricing, you know? Because my buddy runs a small server farm, and every time Amazon sneezes, he catches a cold. But hey, progress, right?
Third, there’s this new GLM-5.3-Flash model. Sounds like a superhero, doesn’t it? Flash. Zoom. It’s fast, I guess. A thousand and thirty upvotes, so the nerds are happy. I don’t pretend to understand all the technical jargon, but if it makes my phone’s autocorrect less stupid, I’m all for it. Honestly, I just want it to stop changing “gonna” to “going to.” That’s my only ask. That’s the real AI breakthrough.
And finally, we gotta talk about Tim Curry. Yeah, the guy from *Rocky Horror*. He passed away. Six hundred sixty six upvotes, which is a weird number, but that’s the internet for you. Man, that guy was a legend. He could chew scenery like nobody’s business. I’m gonna miss him. He made every movie better, even the bad ones. Rest easy, Tim. You were one of a kind. And that’s the news for today.
That’s your daily byte. Have a great day. Until next time.
